They are dominated by Lasallia papulosa, with or without Lasallia pensylvanica. Known from the Sauratown Mountains in the upper Piedmont of North Carolina.

Southeastern Ecology Working Gro...  0 Mangrove forests in island interior depressions, with significant understory development, in the Florida Keys and southern peninsular Florida. Mangrove canopy usually 7-12 m high, closed, and a variable mixture of Rhizophora mangle, Avicennia germinans, Laguncularia racemosa, and Conocarpus erectus. Ficus aurea may be present. The understory includes Acrostichum spp. and Batis maritima.
