» more details
accession code: VB.CC.35924.CEGL004694
Southeastern Ecology Working Gro... 0 This association is only known from ponds on Macon Ridge in the Mississippi River Alluvial Plain of northeastern Louisiana. The canopy is generally closed and consists of Fraxinus pennsylvanica and Populus heterophylla, with lesser amounts of Ulmus americana (mostly in the less flooded portions), Quercus texana, and Acer rubrum var. drummondii. Sedum nuttallianum - Sporobolus vaginiflorus (var. ozarkanus, var. vaginiflorus) - Sedum pulchellum Herbaceous Vegetation
» more details
accession code: VB.CC.34884.CEGL004729
Southeastern Ecology Working Gro... 0 This community occurs on flat, massive exposures of Edwards Limestone, in the Edwards Plateau of central Texas. Very shallow pothole depressions accumulate shallow soils. This community is dominated by vernal annuals, including Sedum nuttallianum, Sedum pulchellum, and Sporobolus vaginiflorus var. ozarkanus (= Sporobolus ozarkanus) (and/or likely Sporobolus vaginiflorus var. vaginiflorus). Nostoc commune is common. Cynodon dactylon Eastern Herbaceous Vegetation
» more details
accession code: VB.CC.36243.CEGL004701
Southeastern Ecology Working Gro... 0 This association is comprised of improved pastures dominated by Cynodon dactylon, with varying degrees of native composition remaining, on a wide variety of soils and sites. It is currently reported from Florida, Georgia, Oklahoma, and possibly other states, primarily in the Southeastern Coastal Plain, but also in other ecoregions. Vegetation is dominated by the introduced grass Cynodon dactylon, with various remnant native species. Although originally planted, Cynodon dactylon maintains itself spontaneously and is considered weedy or "semi-natural" as opposed to cultivated. Examples from Florida may include the native species Eupatorium capillifolium, Helianthemum carolinianum, Heterotheca subaxillaris, Lechea sessiliflora, Nuttallanthus canadensis, Oenothera laciniata, and Solidago odora var. chapmanii, among others. In addition, Juniperus virginiana var. silicicola, Prunus serotina, Quercus hemisphaerica, and Quercus virginiana, may be present as a sparse tree layer, and a very sparse shrub layer may that include Baccharis halimifolia, Ilex vomitoria, Persea borbonia, Prunus angustifolia, Rubus trivialis, Sabal palmetto, and Sideroxylon tenax. Vines may include Smilax auriculata and Vitis rotundifolia. Stands in Oklahoma may contain Ambrosia artemisiifolia, Amphiachyris dracunculoides, and Melilotus albus.
