Very rocky substrate. No soil sampled. Slightly elevated terrace adjacent to river. No sand accumulation. -- To the south, more Alluvial Forests that are better developed and that have sandy substrate. Rock outcrop across river from plot.

Well developed subcanopy stratum with Carpinus dominant. Canopy stratum somewhat patchy. On a slightly higher terrace to the S, the alluvial forest is more "forest-like" with bigger and taller trees.
