Large downed woody debris, greater than 60 cm. DBH. Creekside is quite rich with panax, diphylleia, and lindera benzoin; Aesculus is in canoptnear creek. -- Sample is toeslope/ gentle slope forest on headwaters of Big Tommy; Canopy compos. throughout relatively flat section is diverse with no one species dominating; presence of Prunus in canopy seems unique; Upslope is Q. rubra; downslope is Rhododendron.
