This woodland assn. is extensive on these red argillite outcrops. Clearly visible on the aerial photo. Areas where trees are grouped have more VACMEM, SPIBET & CALRUB. PSEMEN age = 70 yrs.
Soil is very gravelly and makes a weak ribbon under 1 in. It's light brown dry and not very developed, shallow and bedrock is close to surface in much of plot. Lots of red argillite present in soil. Charcoal present under duff.
