Location Narrative
Populus fremontii stand ~20 m south of San Joaquin River and adjacent to dirt road (which is in between stand and river). On the northern edge of the stand there is a large ditch/hole and through the stand there is a wide shallow drainage to this hole. There is a patchy and sparse herbaceous layer. The Salix exigua only ocurrs on the western edge of stand, further from drainage and slightly higher in elevation.
