Exposure is the part of stand on hillside, the majority of the stand is "flat" and no exposure because it is in a valley. The 10 degrees for steepness is correct for an average of the hillside steepness and also for the undulations that occur in the valley. Chamise stand running from E to W on undulating valley at the foot of SW side of a hill. The stand runs up the slope of the hill a little ways (50 m) staying mainly in the valley at the foot of the hill (200 m across, N-S). A road running SW to NE up the hillside and through the valley bisects the stand. This is where the Avena barbata and Lotus scoparius occur.
