Location Narrative	Could look like a grassland in a good year but may look totally bare in bad year. May have had shrubs in 2005. Lower spur ridge of Elk Hills above Ambrosia salsola wash. Fire < 10 years ago, poor germination of annuals, looks "blitzed." Some evidence of old Isocoma (?) stems, virtually no living plants now, silty sandstone with many rodent burrows. Stand covers much of this slope. Jack rabbit scat present.
