Next terrace towards river has a successional pitch pine forest (GARI.88), below that is a riverscour prairie (GARI.87).;High floodplain terrace very rarely flooded with fluvial topography of swales and levees. Forest is dominated by oaks with scattered tulip poplar, Magnolia tripetala is prominent in subcanopy. Deep sandy soils with some horizon development. Herb layer dominated by Thelypteris noveboracensis or sparse under heavy shrub layer of Asimina.
Representativeness
Represents higher terrace of fluvial geomorphology--relativly narrow here but widens in areas. Placed plot to avoid heavy cover of pawpaw which results in depauperate herb layer. Analogous to QURU-LITU/Halesia at New River.
