There is a slightly lower depression just to the east of the plot with a few centimeters of standing water. There are several other herb species on the margins of the community and scattered in the community: Alisma plantago-aquatica, Sagittaria latifolia, Lysmachia nummularia and Galium tinctorium.;The willows are scattered and irregularly spaced. The buttonbush is common throughout and thick (covers ground). Some gaps have open ground below (i.e. no ground cover)
