The community appears to be permanently inundated, but perhaps not to the extent of the present depth. The spring season has been wet. Some willows have died, but the others appear healthy. There are a few rare Acer saccharinum trees and scattered very small island with sparse cover of Pilea pumila.

The plot is very representative. (EAB note Feb 2011: This plot is a strong outlier in the woody wetland data set, probably because it combines woody and aquatic bed communities).
