The occurrence is located along a depression among agricultural fields which lie to the north and south of the area. The eastern edge is the RR grade. The western edge is the main part the Bellville Slough which has mostly Phalaris arundinacea cover. Father to the west are more fields then the Ohio River. A few small lower areas which have some Sagittaria latifolia, Sparganium, Asclepias incarnata, Impatiens and Rosa carolina. A few Apocynum cannabinum and Asclepias verticillata plants are along the northern edge of the community.;The vegetation is very homogeneous and not diverse. The shrubs occur in scattered thick clumps with large spaces between.
