Occurence is a steep oak-hickory woodland situated on a flat face near the summit of a wooded mountainside. Aspect changes drastically over a ridge to the east and similarly but in a more gradual fashion to the west. In both directions the dominant layer becomes more dense. Downslope to the SW is a Nat. Forest campground, a small rd, and Anthony Creek. Downslope to the SE is a bottomlland with a large plant nursery and two small ponds.;Woodland with lots of leaf litter and exposed broken limestone rocks. Forest becomes denser downhill in all layers, and somewhat sparser in the herb and shrub layers uphill. Exposed bedrock outcrops (under forest canopy) to west of plot.
Representativeness
This plot is rockier and somewhat more open than much of the barren. This plot chosen because of abundance of endemic/near endemic .
