Green Branch adjacent to the Cades Cove loop road; AND: From where Green Br. crosses Laurel Cr. Rd; follow ridge to rt. of creek @ 45 degrees NE, 1/4 mi. Plot is 30 ft. below ridge/ 50 m above creek. Directly below plot there's a steep drop off into Green Br.; Creek bends NW below plot.
Landscape Comments: Variation of the early successional stuff. More poplar in the bottom along the creek, more white pine and Gaylussacia near the ridgetop. Sparce understory with thick rhododendron on both slopes.
Representativeness
Representativeness: Tulip polar/Red Maple along Creek flats that changes to Chestnut Oak/Red Maple along slope. Tsuga heavy in subcanopy of both areas.
