Adjacent to oak woodland. Area has thick thatch layer, about 3 inches deep. Moist clay-rich soils beneath. No natives observed in stand except opuntia along roadside, at edge of stand. Cynara may have been treated… no resprouts observed. No signs of recent physical disturbance, probably invaded by exotics due to historical grazing.
