Location Narrative	Open Gutierrezia californica stand on steep terraced slope. Striped by cattle trails. Herbaceous component is dry red brome and scattered forbs which are past bloom. Terracing has disturbed the cryptobiotic soil crust, mosses, poa secunda and shrubs. Soils are soft and erosive. Some shrubs are dead. Lots of Gutierrezia californica seedlings throughout.
