The plot is between the CDC camp and their water tanks. The stand drains to the E towards a small stream. The plot is also E of the power lines. The stand is a clearing dominated by exotic species that is within a Quercus douglasii matrix.; A dirt trail is about 2 m NE of the plot and is often used by inmates for exercise. A water tank is to the NW (~280 degrees).
upland; Annual Grass; Plot does not represent polygon because: Holocarpha virgata is denser at the N side of the stand; There is small burrowing animal activity in the stand. Holocarpha virgata is denser at the N side of the stand than to the N of the dirt trail. This polygon may be two vegetation types and we may need to do an additional releve survey on the N side of the trail. Since this is often used by CDC inmates, security is an issue and permission is needed from CDC officials in order to survey the area.
