The stand is bissected by a dirt road off Shell Rd. accessing the Peoria Wildlife Area with oak woodland forest adjacent on each side (N and S) of the grassland. The stand runs W and E, and the transect line is part in the road and part N of the road. Intermittent boulders present (from table above) and mixed alluvium. Releve line midpoint is in the middle of the road and N and S ends are below and above the road.; Long term road impacts, which in part erodes the substrate. The soils are >1 m in depth, certain weeds are found in the road (e.g., Spergularia, Trifolium hirtum), while others are on less disturbed substrates (e.g., Bromus, Avena).
