Location Narrative |
The stand is about 0.13 miles SW of road, 60 degrees NE of gravel mines, SW of power lines on an undulating, S-facing slope. The Quercus douglasii canopy is very open. There is a dense understory of exotic grasses and forbs with a minor native component. There is a very open Toxicodendron diversilobum layer, mostly under the dead and live Quercus douglasii. Some rocky outcrops are in the stand.; About 75% of the trees are dead. It appears that a moderate intensity fire killed the Quercus douglasii. There is little or no Quercus douglasii regeneration here.
