Observation Narrative ? The habitat is a meandering, seasonally flooded slough located in the very wide bottomland of the Nottoway River, approximately one mile from the main channel. An open shrubland dominated by Cephalanthus occidentalis and containing diverse hydrophytic graminoids is surrounded by more typical, saturated bottomland forest.
