Description: This alliance consists of the vegetation of seasonally flooded pools on granitic flatrocks in Georgia, South Carolina, and Alabama. These communities are generally dominated by the nominal species ~Amphianthus pusillus, Isoetes melanospora$, and ~Isoetes tegetiformans$, all of which are endemic to granitic flatrocks of the southeastern United States. ~Diamorpha smallii$ may occupy adjacent marginal areas of this community, which are flooded for shorter periods of time. Other species which may occur are ~Juncus georgianus$ and ~Cyperus granitophilus$.
