Description: Flooding is often from groundwater wicking to the surface. The most 'typical' playa in inland saltgrass communities; forb diversity is high. Includes Salicornia rubra, Suaeda calceoliformis (= Suaeda depressa), Crepis spp., Iva spp., Triglochin maritima, Puccinellia nuttalliana, Juncus balticus. Hordeum jubatum increases with grazing. These are short grasslands.
