Shrubs include Rhus copallinum, Ptelea trifoliata, Viburnum rufidulum, Asimina parviflora, Styrax grandifolius, Vaccinium arboreum, and Vaccinium pallidum. The rare shrub Amorpha schwerinii may be present within its limited range. Some woody vines which may be present include Cocculus carolinus and Vitis rotundifolia. Some typical herbs (all of which may have low cover values) may include Schizachyrium scoparium, Tragia urticifolia, Dichanthelium sp., Piptochaetium avenaceum, Coreopsis major, Tephrosia virginiana, Pityopsis graminifolia, and Solidago odora var. odora.
