Description: This riparian woodland association is highly diverse floristically being on a transition zone between the Mojave and Great Basin deserts in addition to large elevation gradients. The most common trees of the upper canopy are Populus fremontii, Fraxinus velutina and Salix laevigata. Other common trees include Acer negundo, Quercus gambelii, Salix gooddingii, Salix lasiolepis, Juniperus osteosperma, and Juniperus scopulorum. Shrubs are diverse with Baccharis salicifolia (= Baccharis glutinosa), Artemisia tridentata, Ericameria nauseosa (= Chrysothamnus nauseosus), Rhus trilobata, Salix exigua, Tamarix ramosissima, and Rosa woodsii being most prevalent.
