Description: This fresh flotant marsh type of the Chenier and Deltaic plains of Louisiana is dominated by Sagittaria lancifolia, with Typha spp. and Ludwigia spp. as the most common associates. It generally occurs inland from the oligohaline marsh types and is often interspersed with other fresh marsh types [see Panicum hemitomon Semipermanently Flooded Herbaceous Vegetation (CEGL004665)]. Species richness in this marsh type is relatively high, especially in the Chenier Plain examples.
