Description: This is a riparian community with distribution at least covering the Snake River area. It occurs on sandy bars and deltas with alluvial gravel and cobble. Schoenoplectus acutus (= Scirpus acutus) and Schoenoplectus tabernaemontani (= Scirpus validus) may occur along the edge of the riverbanks. Overall cover is 80-90% willows (Salix exigua and Salix lucida ssp. caudata), 8-14% Typha latifolia, and incidental Asclepias fascicularis, Populus deltoides, and Leymus cinereus.
