Name: Abies lowiana - Abies magnifica var. shastensis / Ribes spp. Forest Reference: NatureServe Biotics 2019 Description: This community is common in the Klamath-Siskiyou Region of Oregon and probably also occurs in California and in the southern Cascades. Stands are usually on convex topography at mid-slopes and are found at elevations of 1160-1680 m (3800-5500 feet) on all but northern aspects. This mixed-conifer forest association has a lush understory. <i>Abies lowiana</i> usually dominates the tree canopy with lesser cover of <i>Abies magnifica var. shastensis, Calocedrus decurrens</i>, and <i>Pseudotsuga menziesii</i>.
