Description: These riparian forests are restricted to the southern parts of the Colorado Rockies. Stands occur at the upper elevational limit of <i>Populus angustifolia</i>. The tree canopy is a mixture of needle-leaved evergreen and broad-leaved deciduous trees and is an unusual combination codominated by <i>Abies lasiocarpa, Picea engelmannii</i>, and <i>Populus angustifolia</i>. The shrub layer is dominated by <i>Lonicera involucrata</i>. Information on stands that occur outside Colorado will be added later.
