Description: This plant association is described from the Snake River canyon in western Idaho from sites at 460 to 800 m (1500-2625 feet) elevation. The overstory of stands is dominated by <i>Alnus rhombifolia</i>; dispersed <i>Populus balsamifera ssp. trichocarpa, Pinus ponderosa</i>, or <i>Prunus virginiana</i> are often present. The shrub understory is occupied by <i>Sambucus nigra ssp. cerulea</i>. No other information is currently available.
