Description: This herbaceous vegetation type has been described from wetlands on the Yellowstone Plateau of northwestern Wyoming. It occupies mesic, fine- to coarse-textured, mineral soils on flats and low ridges. The herbaceous vegetation may contain a variety of graminoids and forbs. <i>Carex microptera, Phleum alpinum, Deschampsia cespitosa, Trisetum wolfii</i>, and <i>Symphyotrichum foliaceum</i> are always present, and a number of other species may be abundant, including <i>Antennaria corymbosa, Potentilla diversifolia</i>, and <i>Epilobium ciliatum ssp. glandulosum</i>.
