Description: This community type is uncommon in the northern Puget Trough lowlands of Washington. It occurs on very thin layers of floating sphagnum that give way when stepped on. The water level is at or slightly above the substrate surface. It occurs in depressions or around the pond margins of bogs. This community type is dominated by <i>Eriophorum chamissonis</i> and <i>Sphagnum</i> spp. and has few other associated species, but may include <i>Carex pauciflora, Rhynchospora alba</i>, and <i>Vaccinium oxycoccos</i>.
