Description: This association is currently known from only one area in the Siskiyou Mountains of southwestern Oregon. These woodlands are found at low elevations (averaging 683 m [2240 feet]), on stony, gravelly serpentine or peridotite soils. The soils are typical, red serpentine clays. Aspects and slopes are variable. This is a woodland, dominated by <i>Pinus jeffreyi, Pseudotsuga menziesii</i>, and <i>Pinus attenuata</i>. The shrub cover is moderate and variable, with <i>Umbellularia californica</i> forming a tall-shrub layer, and <i>Quercus vacciniifolia, Arctostaphylos nevadensis, Frangula californica</i> at about 1 m tall, and <i>Ceanothus pumilus</i> as an evergreen shrub ground cover. Forbs are generally present, with <i>Carex</i> spp., <i>Zigadenus micranthus, Aspidotis densa, Galium ambiguum, Lomatium macrocarpum</i>, and <i>Achillea millefolium</i> found in most stands.
