Description: This saturated longleaf pine - pond pine woodland association is only found on wet Spodosols of the Atlantic Coastal Plain of North and South Carolina and possibly in Georgia. The open canopy is dominated by a mixture of <i>Pinus palustris</i> and <i>Pinus serotina</i>. The shrub layer is sparse to absent. Some characteristic components of the herbaceous stratum include <i>Ctenium aromaticum, Muhlenbergia expansa</i>, and <i>Carphephorus odoratissimus</i>.
