Description: This association is found in the Zuni Mountains in west-central New Mexico. Preliminary data indicate this type occurs along the rocky banks of montane streams at around 2290 m (7500 feet) elevation. This community type is characterized by a dense shrub thicket dominated by <i>Cornus sericea ssp. sericea</i> and <i>Salix irrorata</i>. Other well-represented shrubs include <i>Prunus virginiana, Ribes leptanthum</i>, and <i>Rosa woodsii</i>. Vines are also well-represented and include <i>Humulus lupulus var. lupuloides</i> and <i>Clematis ligusticifolia</i>.
