Description: This emergent wetland vegetation is mostly dominated by graminoid plants such as <i>Juncus</i> spp., <i>Panicum hemitomon, Schoenoplectus americanus, Schoenoplectus tabernaemontani</i>, and <i>Typha latifolia</i>. Broadleaf emergent wetland forbs are also important, such as <i>Pontederia cordata</i>. It is found in basins and along lakeshores of the Southeastern Coastal Plain, which are flooded for long periods of time.
