Description: This community occurs in depressional wetland, freshwater marshes with peaty soils in central and southern Florida. <i>Panicum hemitomon</i> is dominant. Other species may include <i>Pontederia cordata, Typha latifolia</i>, and others. These marshes occur where water depth is between 0.3 and 1 m, and hydroperiod extends more than 200 days per year.
