This stand of tall Populus fremontii along the banks of the Stanislaus River has a secondary canopy layer occupied by Acer negundo. Below that is a matrix of shrub and herb communities throughout this band of relatively flat floodplain. Significant public access such as a well-used bike path but little trash or other disturbances. Fire is isolated few trees.
