Description: This association occurs in elongated interdune swales on coastal islands and peninsulas. Stands typically contain Eleocharis elongata, Panicum tenerum, and Nymphaea odorata. Other characteristic species include Eleocharis equisetoides, Dichanthelium erectifolium, Rhynchospora tracyi, and Rhynchospora macrostachya. Isolated individuals of woody species such as Cephalanthus occidentalis, Nyssa biflora, and Ilex cassine may occur in this community, especially near its edges.
