Description: This is the most "typical" playa in inland saltgrass communities in Utah and possibly occurring in Nevada. Forb diversity is high and includes <i>Distichlis spicata, Salicornia rubra, Suaeda calceoliformis, Crepis</i> spp., <i>Iva</i> spp., <i>Triglochin maritima, Puccinellia nuttalliana</i>, and <i>Juncus arcticus ssp. littoralis</i>. <i>Hordeum jubatum</i> increases with grazing. These are short grasslands. Flooding is often from groundwater wicking to the surface.
