Description: This community type is found in deep marshes throughout the midwestern United States and Canada. The vegetation is dominated by relatively pure stands of <i>Typha</i> spp., either <i>Typha latifolia</i> or <i>Typha angustifolia</i> or both. Many associates could occur. This type may simply be a less diverse variation of ~<i>Typha</i> spp. - <i>Schoenoplectus acutus</i> - Mixed Herbs Midwest Marsh (CEGL002229)$$, or is a ruderal type resulting from human disturbance to wetlands.
