Name: Schoenoplectus acutus - Carex lasiocarpa Marsh Reference: NatureServe Biotics 2019 Description: This association occurs in standing water on the shores of lakes in limestone regions, and is dominated by the tall bulrush <i>Schoenoplectus acutus</i>. Associates include <i>Carex lasiocarpa, Typha angustifolia, Lysimachia thyrsiflora</i>, and <i>Schoenoplectus tabernaemontani</i>. Aquatic plants such as <i>Utricularia minor, Utricularia intermedia, Lemna</i> spp., and <i>Menyanthes trifoliata</i> often form an "understory" below the bulrushes and cattails.
